The iconic former bank at 4 Baxtergate is entering an exciting new chapter. Steeped in history, this grand building is being transformed into The Treasury Whitby, a sophisticated new destination for exceptional drinks, morning coffee, and relaxed social experiences in the heart of town.
Opening Summer 2026
Guests will be welcome all day, from mornings filled with freshly brewed coffee and cake, through to evenings of cocktails, specially curated wines, premium spirits, and elegant bar snacks. all served within one of Whitby’s most architecturally significant buildings.
Our beautifully restored bar will blend timeless grandeur with a sleek, contemporary aesthetic, creating the perfect setting for everything from morning catch-ups and cream teas to evening drinks and celebrations.
Next Phase Coming Soon
Our kitchen and full restaurant offering will launch later this year as part of the next phase of The Treasury experience, our focus from day one will be on delivering exceptional hospitality, quality drinks, and a warm welcome.
Behind the scenes, we continue to work carefully and sympathetically to preserve the building’s original character while creating a space that feels refined, welcoming, and unmistakably special.

Our House Champagne: Laurent-Perrier
We are proud to announce Laurent-Perrier as the exclusive House Champagne of The Treasury Whitby.
A family-owned, award-winning Champagne house and recognised innovator, Laurent-Perrier holds the Royal Warrant of HM King Charles III — the only Champagne house to do so — in recognition of its quality and environmental leadership.
La Cuvée and Cuvée Rosé will be served by the glass, alongside Blanc de Blancs, Vintage 2015 and Grand Siècle by the bottle.
