As we count down the days to our Summer 2026 opening, we are thrilled to pull back the curtain on a partnership that sits at the very heart of The Treasury Whitby experience.
We are proud to announce that the multi-award-winning Whitby Distillery will be our official House Pour Gin. This means that from the moment we open our doors at 4 Baxtergate, the full range of their exceptional spirits will be available across our bar, from their classic London Dry to limited-edition coastal releases.
A Spirit Shaped by the Sea
For us, hospitality is about more than just serving drinks; it is about telling stories. And no story captures the essence of Whitby quite like Whitby Distillery’s.
Founded in 2018, Whitby Distillery has earned national acclaim for its distinctive portfolio. Their signature gin is a true taste of the North Yorkshire coastline, crafted using locally foraged botanicals including sugar kelp gathered directly from Whitby shores. By selecting them as our house pour, we are placing a truly local, independent producer at the centre of our premium drinks programme.
Our guests will be able to explore the full depth of their craftsmanship—from the coastal notes of their signature gin to the rich character of their award-winning pot still gin—featured in curated serves and signature cocktails designed to highlight their unique character.

While the quality of the spirits alone made this partnership a natural fit, it is the story behind the brand that truly cements it.
This collaboration is bound by more than just business; it is rooted in a deep sense of duty to the town we both call home. Distillery co-founder Luke Pentith and The Treasury founder Ali Hussain both serve as volunteer crew members for the RNLI Whitby Lifeboat Station.
This shared commitment to the safety and wellbeing of our maritime community is something we hold in the highest regard. It is a philosophy that mirrors The Treasury’s own mission: to honour Whitby’s heritage while investing in its future.
